orangerie 1000

Orangerie

This collection pays tribute to historic orangeries — greenhouses used to grow citrus during the winter in cold climates. Imagine yourself in a Victorian era sunroom or conservatory, formal gardens all around, big floral bouquets accentuated with kumquats, ripe oranges fresh from the tree, butterflies fluttering about, hanging vines bringing their greenery indoors. Outdoor gardens feature climbing espaliers and trellises alongside leafy coleus plants and ponds full of water lilies. This collection was painted from various botanical gardens and features plants and architectural elements from conservatories in Pennsylvania and New Orleans.
